have the best defence in the world at the moment, bar none.

they are one of only three teams that could beat barca to the CL trophy.

Can I include this statement when I next review urby emanuelson. Smile

I know when he was at Ajax he was more offensive but looks like Milan have reigned him in a bit and instilled a bit of defensive discipline to his game

Even with Luca Antonini in the back four? Always looked suspect whenever I've seem him play but I admit, that's not been often.

Is Italian fooball on it's way back to the top of the footballing tree?

Looks like it, although they are about to lose one of their CL's places from next year.

he used to be an attacking mid...still is...out on the left...though now he's more of a left half rather than a left winger/dy. he's not a full back or wing back though, abate and antonini do that job.

i have two of the milan defence and neither are higher than 9595, quality. no plans to review them just yet.

I agree with Stu as far as the CB pairing is concerned. Thiago being arguably the best in the world at present. The full backs individually are decent but where it really works is as a unit. Similar to Arsenal of old - Winterburn or Dixon were awesome as part of that unit but individually not so hot. Antonini and Abate have really come into their own but I think it's really down to the way Allegri has put them together as neither showed this level of play previously or in the national set up. So it seems like a system/coach success ...... plus Thiago is a god.

yeah winterburn and dixon were initially no great shakes when adams and o'leary commanded the defence. i think both came from stoke in the second division. but that defence grew into a formidable force not seen afterwards since pallister and bruce.

Thiago and Mexes having a 'mare. Although Mesbah the LB signed from Lecce (I think ?) is making it worse. The midfield is also being over run - van Bommel looks very slow.

Milan score 1 though and Arsenal need 3 more.

Mesbah was a disaster and Oxlade-Chamberlain destroyed him. Walcott's decision making looked dodgy again. Thiago and Mexes were pretty solid as was Abate at RB but with the midfield pretty weak and a dodgy LB they were exposed. Good work by Allegri to fix it up at half time.

Got to admit as soon as oxlade was injured we lost our drive in midfield.

subs just wernt good enough, would of been happier if we had arshavin to come off the bench then chamakh.

you could tell by how reluctant arsene was to take chamberlain off that he knew his bench wouldnt cut it.

overall amazing performance and really good match.

Supurb effort from the gooners.

talk about chalk and cheese performances from both sides over the 2 legs.

Tbh we lost this in the first leg and although it would have been nice to get through we are not going to win it so actually now leaves us with 1 game a week and a real chance to salvage a CL place for next season.

What was good though is the belief in the camp must be sky high after our results, I think Newcastle is key on Monday, if we can get 9 points from Spurs, Liverpool and Newcastle that would be an awesome set of results.

lol actually Hertford Town are my local team (http://www.hertfordtownfc.co.uk/), nearest league side is indeed Stevenage but tbh when I was growing up I got annoyed with the fact they couldn't get promoted as their ground wasn't big enough (think Torquay went up instead)

furry muff. they're doing well now though.

why are bishop's in the northern league btw? unless my vision is graphically imapired, chips and gravy a'int exactly snortford grub...i mean your more likely to get prawn sandwiches and a bottle of pellegrino than pie and chips and a pint of ale there?!?!
