First slip up of the season. Well played Andy. A win against Benfica should see me through though. Or a draw when Schalke and Plymouth play again.

Congratulations to some of you who have already qualified for the quarter-finals after just four games of the six played at the group stages, good luck to the rest of you striving to make it still.

Less than an hour to kickoff and grounds are beginning to fill up.

One of the big games this week takes place in the Bundesliga where struggling Bayern entertain Gladbach the current league leaders, and it is a must win game for Bayern who would be five points behind the leaders if they can grab a win here, the win will also help the current Champions Schalke who are currently in second three points behind Gladbach, but they too have a tough game this week away at Dortmund.

Tough games all round in Serie A this week as Inter play host to Cagliari, Ancona visit Champions Napoli and Milan entertain struggling Parma, who are "determine to get at least a draw this week", according to their boss.

Under achieving Etienne have a tough home game against high flying Monaco who will be hoping to keep up the pressure on the top two of Paris and Nantes, who both have relatively easier games this week, so an important week for Monaco for sure.

The big game in England sees mid-table Fulham play host to second placed Man City where three points for the home side would take them above this week's opponents and severely damage City's own title hopes. Leaders Chelsea take on Arsenal in the big London derby as the surprise side of the season so far tries hard to keep their noses in front.

Fans are discussing the pros and cons of various transfer rumours, including Schalke's rumoured capture of another young German international in the shape of Julian Brandt rumoured to be worth £40m to Dortmund, who themselves need a couple of decent reinforcements having struggled in the early part of this season.

Another rumour doing the rounds is Villa's expected capture of the highly rated playmaker Christian Eriksen on loan from Watford, who until last week was doing so well on loan at Preston.
