Not many confirmed deals this week although Preston are in the process of trying to sign Lewis Holtby from Chelsea and Man City have made an audacious bid to try and land Gundogan and Mustafi from Bayern Munich with Plymouth also very interested in bringing in Mustafi.

Plymouth have released a statement:

'we will do everything in our power to bring in Mustafi and are willing to negotiate hard to bring him to England. The start in the league has not been good and in Mustafi we recognise a player that can propel us to new heights in a competitive division. We await the opportunity to negotiate with Bayern Munich should they wish.'

Thanks for the turn. Couple of strange occurrences this turn. I had Mahrez sent off but in my game he didn't go off - probably shooting myself in the foot here but only fair to flag it up for all managers.

Also still having this:

Kieran Gibbs wants to play in the first eleven.                                                    
Jeff Schlupp wants to play in the first eighteen.                                                  

Jack Wilshere wants to play in the first eleven.        

Despite them all having played this week.

Just out of interest, following Tom's comment on losing at home, I was interested to see if he was correct, these are the win draw loss records of the last four Premiership Champions.

Season 26 Watford    home 9-1-1   away 5-2-4  total 14-3-5
Season 25 ManCity    home 8-3-0   away 9-2-0  total 17-5-0
Season 24 Plymouth  home 10-1-0 away 7-1-3  total 17-2-3
Season 23 Fulham     home 8-1-2   away 5-1-5  total 13-2-7

I thought it was interesting.

Season 23 ........  Fulham won with only 13 wins. Must have been a hugely competitive season.

These messages are just a warning, you did play them in your cup team, but they are reminding you because you left them out of your league team. You dont have to play them in the league team but they will remind you if you dont.

This has confused a few people so I may well remove it or at least word it better.

Tell you what, the season 23 table shows just how difficult it is to break into the Premiership and then stay there, only Newcastle have fallen out to be replaced by Villa in the next 3 seasons.

Joking aside, will be pretty tough now having lost so early in the season at home. Champions tend to be pretty strong at home all season. 

With all due respect to Rob and the job he is doing at Villa, how many of those losses have been against newly promoted sides? Certainly doesn't bode well for the season, barring staying unbeaten for the rest of the season the title already seems out of reach.

Bit of a turnaround ....... Watford escape relegation by a point, City in 7th (as close to relegation as winning the title with 9 points either way).  And both of them win the title in the next 3 seasons.

Also on the basis of this Villa still need another 15 points to avoid relegation.
