| WATFORDWaford were on the verge of an abysmal season and then they have sprung to life (The Lazarus Effect) With all hopes almost lost, the side decided to turn up on there last outing and managed to stun a surprised Man City side. “Once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, the third time it's enemy action” Can Watford make it a coincidence Vs Charlton this week? The clash is always a six pointer in the league, this season it appears to be for the relegation battle rather then the title! Oh how the mighty have fallen. The manager needs to get the home side on there feet from the off and give them something to cheer about, so Bukayo Saka comes into the starting XI to be the final piece to the current puzzle.. Hopefully he will be Fired Up to prove something to his previous manager. In the Champions Cup, Paris are the opponents and carry a threat as they previous inflicted a defeat in the reverse fixtures. Hopefully something the manager can remedy this time round. Barnes keeps his place at RW this week to help keep things fresh in attack. AC MILANA narrow defeat last outing for Milan, who have certainly had some strong performance just not the results. Gollini put in a POOR display and the manager will be keeping an eye on the form of the GK before deciding to drop for the eager Bart Verbruggen. Which as given the manager something to think about, improving the players he has, rather then going into the market for new players. This weeks opponent is Juventus, this is the first time this season that the newly managed teams have faced off. This will no doubt put a marker on which side will be challenging at the top come EOS. Monaco are the Europa opponents, both sides are currently leading the group. However, side not mathematically through so concentration is required. 5 players find themselves listed at the side to clear out the previous regimes players. Michael Folorunsho is a player the manager has brought in and developed in his short time, but sometimes players have to be scarified. After the arrival of Pafundi who manager is keen to integrated into the starting 18. Someone has to make. LEVERKUSENLeverkusen came away with the 3 points last week, sometimes when you are challenging for honours. You got to play ugly to get the result and that’s certainly what Leverkusen did. Milinkovic-Savic rolling back the years and putting in a MOM performance to drag the side to victory. Unfortunate injury to Bruno Guimaraes in the cup sees him out of Action for this weeks trip to Bayern. So Vermeeren gets the nod at the AM role. Bayern appear to be going through a mini-transition after letting key player Gotze retire gracefully. Hopefully the manager can catch the side napping and claim all 3 points! Leverkusen have gone through the European campaign with a 100% record so far, can Vitesse cause an upset? Manager making inroads to try trim down the squap, Idrissa Gueye Transfer Value slashed to just 1,000,000 while Jonny Otto who has been at the club for a while now but never really in the side, gets listed for 10,000,000. BOTAFOGODid complancy settle into the side given they had been on such a strong run as of late? The side, while the better side only managed to scrap a draw VS Corinthains last game out. Hopefully that result reminds the players they must be switched on at all times if they want to be celebrating come the end of the season! Huge week as Santos as the opponents. Fingers crossed Casemiro and Neymar are at the races to cause problems this week! Corinthain are the Copa Liba opponents, revenge on the cards for last weeks performance? Good luck to everyone! |

| Is it just me or does every week feel like there is so much riding on it?
Barcelona League - It doesn't get bigger than El Classico. Barca travel to Madrid to take on Rich's Real. In what has been a turbulent season for Bacra this is a huge test for the FLY tactic and for the players. The only change is the experienced Benzema stepping in at CF with Osimhen dropping to the bench. There are numerous players pushing to break into the first team but I'm keeping faith with the incumbents for now. Gavi, Yamal, Williams, Porro and Bale may get their chances sooner rather than later though. Real are arguably the strongest squad in La Liga, with Spain stars Olmo and Cucurella backed up by world class talent like Courtois, De Jong and the age defying Ronaldo. And with Mainoo, Garnacho and Yoro adding youth it's a very strong mix. Europe - A make or break game against Benfica, it's the very definition of a must win so Barca can get back into a qualification spot. Guedes is proving t be the main man for the Lisbon giants so he'll be getting extra attention. The board have offered new contracts to Cubarsi, Fati and Fresneda in an effort to secure some of our young stars on longer term deals.
Nacional League - After 2 very tough away games Nacional are at home to 2nd bottom Atenas. These are the type of games where focus and concentration is key. Alan Varela is back in at AM and the competition for starting places is great to keep everyone on their toes. Sudamericana - This is a very tight group with 3 points separating top and bottom. Cruz Azul and razor sharp ST Santiago Giminez are this week's opponents. Another must win (or is it a must not lose) where every point is vital in the group.
Hannover League - After last week's huge win at home to Bayern it's a trip to bottom placed Frankfurt this week. In looking at the opposition line up I was shocked at their League position with several Turkish internationals and exciting Egyptian, Omar Marmoush, the main men. This could prove to be a very tight game and there are no changes to the Hannover line up as the squad get bedded into the FLY tactic. Europe - It's a trip home for me (or close anyway) as Hannover play Glentoran. Although qualification is secured top spot is still open as Dunfermline are level on points so a win is very important. Again no changes to the line up. Home advantage is so important in Cup games it's worth going all out.
Rennais League - The newly promoted minnows are hanging in and only trailing perennial champions, Nantes, by 2 points. This week the team is at home to relegation threatened Toulouse. No changes to the team as consistency and focus remain the key themes. Every slip up will be ruthlessly exploited by Tom and his excellent Nantes side. Europe - Another must win game. Lose and the European journey will be over for this season. The only change is the experienced Varane stepping in for Hiroki Ito. This week's opponents are Scottish side Raith. Raith are an eclectic bunch with skateboarding (honestly) schemer Gustavo Scarpa pulling the strings and he's backed up by talents like Elneny, Kehinde and Hayden. A new deal is on the table for Korean midfielder Lee Kang-In who is proving to be a creative revelation in the DY role.
Sorry I've not really been around for a while. A few tough months at work and some other stuff but all looking good for a more relaxed end to the year. |

| Schalke A tough home lge match v gladbach has prompted a slight change of formation, with Rodri and Kimmich at AM, giving licence for Davies and Hakimi to get forward (hopefully). No place for Musiala or Havertz at the moment with Kulusevski being given a long-overdue run at RW. Klostermann taking De Ligts place at CB due to his outstanding form. A home CL match v Porto, using the same formation tweaks as the lge match, will hopefully see Schalke qualify for the knock-out stages. A couple of swaps should be happening - bringing in a couple of youngsters for the yth teams. The board continue to Equip their buildings for the future benefit of the club. |

| Champions Cup - Group Stage results - Match Day five
Charlton 4 InterMilan 2 Barcelona 5 Benfica 0
Plymouth 3 Ajax 2 RealMadrid 2 PSV 1
Chelsea 3 Napoli 1 Schalke 5 Porto 0
Watford 1 Paris 0 Bayern 0 ManCity 1
Charlton, Schalke and Watford already qualify for the quarter-finals with one game still to play, elsewhere it is still very tight. |
