Season 35 week 15 processing...

Welcome to week 15.

I hope everybody had a good christmas break and I wish you all a happy new year.

Julie and I took a couple of weeks off to relax but we didn't go anywhere cos the weather is really cold down here at the moment. Julie did put on some much needed weight though must have been all those choccy biscuits you guys sent me. She had her month 15 scan just before christmas and it was all clear.

Friendly games have kicked off so I expect the league games to kickoff Wednesday morning at 1000 hours.

WATFORD

A hard thought draw earned last week, Chelsea always tough opponents and hopefully they can build on the solid foundations they’ve built. As for Watford, Cancelo returns to the side. Harvey barnes gave some great performances and have certainly given the manager something to think about should he want to rotate more in the future to protect/rest Cancelo. Lukaku took a knock in the last game but has been passed fit to retain his place this week. Gyokeres is eager to break into the first XI, however he’s just not currently at the level Lukaku gives the side. But surely more performances from the Swede and the manager will be forced to consider who leads the line. This week see’s the arrival of Plymouth at the Watford Stadium, can the manager Inspire and take advantage of the home crowd? While Watford are out of the title the race, the manager as told the players that there is still pride to play for and cup competitions and if the side want to be taken seriously next year they need to perform.
 

AC MILAN

Another sublime display Milan, 4 wins in a row. The side certainly seem to be over there midseason blip (caused by the managers disruption to the side). The side are spearheaded by Abrahams 24-29 and Leao 22-29. the duo have formed a lethal partnership and it continues to drive the side forward. The italian league is very tight, with any of the top 5 teams realistically being in contention for the title.
Manager was pleased to see recent departure Folorunsho make his debut for Parma and help lead his side to victory. Enough about sentiment, this weeks opponents are Udinese the side must stay switched on and motivated if they are to keep pressure on the blue side of Milan.
 

LEVERKUSEN

A slight stumble last week after a 1-1 draw with Dortmund. Cant afford to giver away points at this stage of the season. So manager Inspiring his side to overcome the Gladbach side who are also a strong side and could cause a potential upset if the manager isn't focused.
Manager has signed off and commissioned the final construction of the 4590 seats required to maximise the the capacity to 120,000!

 
BOTAFOGO

A well earned point last week Vs Flamengo who were once one of the teams challenging for honours in Brazil when the manager first took over at Botafogo. So respect must be given when the two sides meet and while the performance from Botafogo deserved more. It’s down to the manager to find a way to help see off teams. Will more subs be introduced to help freshen things up as games progress?
Manager is making some ruthless decisions, 10 players out on loan and only 6 places left in current squad. So some players will have to be moved on to allow for the return of some of the players, this weeks casualties are Kayky, once tipped to be the “next…” unfortunately a ACL seems to have staggered his progress. Roger Fernandes another player being axed, Unfortunately the manager needs to make more space to bring back some other “higher potential” players.

The Messi less Argentine's didnt really get a look in as England strolled to victory and will next face the slick Portuguese in the World Cup final. Will the England boss find a good reason to not allow Cancelo and Bernardo to join the final ? must be tempting as both were superb against the Mexicans, especially Bernardo Silva.

Brazil narrowly won the battle with Argentina and are now set to face the powerful German youth side in the final, looks like its going to be a game of skill against strength if ever there was.
