Scouts coming up trumps

Just thinking, as google news gets a daily hammering over silly season to see where my players are going, which players I've invested wisely on.

Led me to thinking, what's the best 250,000 I have spent on a player.

Interested to see what other managers are too. Especially Iain, Matt, Jamie and Rob. Bet there are some frightening names in there that they paid minimal amounts for.

So, which are your best investments that you newed in and they cost you the minimum?

To be fair, bet Geoff and Paul have a few too!!!

World Record is £78millions Edin Dzeko and he was newed in by Rob for £4millions, so that aint too shabby. Even Iain only paid £16millions for him from Rob.

Someone at Bayern paid 4m for Cristiano Ronaldo then sold him for £50m and what's he worth now ? I cant remember who the manager was though, was that you Tom ?

No, wasn't me. I've had some shockers though.

Sold Suarez for 8m, and actually owned Falcao twice!!

The best deal I think I've done is £250k on Mario Balotelli. I got cash plus 3 youth players ... including Lukaku.

Financed a lot of the team building at Inter.

Other cheap ones which I still have are El Shaarawy, Insigne and Verratti all full Internationals at £250k each. I've also overpaid for some too .............

Best player I ever newed was Rivaldo back in the early days, cost me £150,000 for Santos, but I never could bring myself to sell him. Kept him til I had to retire him. Then grab as my dynamo coach, still got him.

Would have probably been Scott Upton at Bayern, got Messi for £1m, iniesta was cheap as was Torres, got all 3 off the santos players (Alex, Diego and Robinho) pretty cheap probably in 2003/4 and then used them for some big player swaps, same with Sneijder and Robben and Nasri and Ben Arfa. Mario Gotze was also very cheap as was Hazard

oh yeah Scott Upton forgot he had Bayern in game 1 as well.

I'd say Messi's value has doubled at least.

I got David villa for 1 m and hummels ozil reus and schurrle for trib Val I think

Swapping Rodwell for Lewandowski is pretty good, got Januzaj, Bernard, Henriquez, Marquinhos(Roma CB) all for 250k

Managed to pick up Antonio Di Natale on a free this turn for Gremio, he might be 35 but he's still banging them in at Serie A and Europa League level!

Back to the question. The best £250,000 I spent was on Rafael Varane, that I then swapped for Ganso, wish I had kept Varane now as my other best £250,000 NEW was Andrei Yarmolenko, now giving Ganso a challenge for starting TM at Betis

Oh, and Wifired Zaha for £250,000 is worth a mention

Zaha very impressive on Monday. The scary thing is watching live you see how much he pulls the whole opposition defence out of shape ... without the ball.
