well yeah he sold jamie redknapp to liverpool for 350,000 and got over half the fee for himself as he was his son's agent. fishy?! - Tom@Charlton-Bayern wrote:

| can someone please explain to me why there is going to be a delay?. Granted, the deadline is a monday...but Paul inputs on a tuesday and plays the games on a wednesday...so why is a bank holiday monday going to make a shred of difference.
we have an online submission form now..
and...if we posted orders back on a wednesday/thursday, then surely they'd get there on a saturday/tuesday worst case scenario.
Online is the way for me.... |

| does doing somethnig as a hobbie mean doing it in your own time or spare time? i mean, maybe we could all agree to mail our turns an extra day early to help paul out and he could maybe input before the BH weekend?? consensus? |

| Fine by me, but you might need to make it an extra day early as Good Friday is happening too. Delay is inevitable I'm afraid.... |

Delay is inevitable I'm afraid.... good friday isnt a bank holiday. but anyway, if Paul has all our turns by the Saturday then it gives him the entire weekend to get everything inputted so he could run the game on the tuesday as normal. of course he might have plans over easter so it all depends if he is open to this suggestion in the first place. I always aim to post on thursday so my turn usually reaches Paul by the Saturday regardless, except this week as I was waiting on Gaz over Adriano. |

| its not a typical bank holiday is what i meant, goods and services continue as normal and open usual hours and not as per sunday trading laws like on a normal bank holiday monday. its only a bank holiday if you are a monk or nun. |

| Or a Bank or public sector worker, so NO POST! It is also not a Bank Holiday in Israel or any Islamic country |

| Sorry Stu, it is a bank holiday. As an employer, the eight bank holidays a year are a pain in the ass and I really don't see the point of them (apart from Christmas as that makes us a lot of money!) No post offices, no sorting offices, no postmen working. Don't get me wrong, I really hope that there isn't a delay, but can't see Paul doing anything else. Can't see him coming on here and reading your suggestion either, so it is all pretty irrelevant. We will just have to wait and see. On a seperate note, as an athiest, can anyone explain to me why a quarter of my public holidays a year are forced upon me, because a chap named Jesus was nailed to a cross? Would mean more to me if the day we won the world cup was a public holiday, or the day Isaac Newton was born or even Alexander Bell, the Duke of Wellington or James Cook. Surely it is a matter of time before these change with the changing cultures within our society. What percentage of the population have spent the last forty days fasting? I suggest a minimal amount. |

| Deadline was yesterday, we will get it at the end of this week be it friday or sat (unless your unlucky) easter weekend is the weekend after and will effect our return sheets from turn 14. Chill everyone |

| Just a thought, but if everyone is agreed that we send our turns extra early then maybe someone should ring Paul now and suggest that there is no break and we are happy for the deadline to be moved to Thursday 1st April. It is highly unlikely he will read this topic as he hasn't been on here since the beginning of Feb. Talking about it on here won't change what Paul is planning on doing. Delay or no delay. |

| Been away from the forum all last week and my personal life is getting very hectic again! Not turn sent from this end, really disappointing as i was having a really quiet week but failed to start filling it in. Then my 7 week old little girl starting finding her lungs at the end of the week and driving my wife insane! In stepped dad to make matters worse! All in all no turn sent, its still sat on my lounge table and i cant find my red pen! Only plus side was nothing was happening this turn at City, just a few youths being recalled from feeder etc and i was not making any changes to first 11. Just hoping we can continue the winning. Lets just hope the baby settles down for next turn....... |

| ross. doing your turn in the middle of the night with crying baby in your other arm is part of the game!! I remember when Eve was that young i'd be holding her crying, playing on-line poker and sorting my turn out! Oh hang on, i did have massive bags under my eyes.................and no money in the poker account.............and was crap at CF!! It gets easier mate, not a lot but it does get easier!! |
