- Will going against the trend with width. It makes a lot of sense and it's what I was trying to do with Ribery and Di Maria at Inter last season but SLO does negate the impact of the wide men a lot. I have to say I love the idea of playing it out wide .... John Robertson anyone but my fears are it'll end up more Gary Crosby. The other issue for me is you also have a very lightweight central midfield and with most people playing 433 with a TM that could be an big issue .... if you don't have the ball you can't pass it to your wingers.
. its a really funny one , cos in the eyes of the game i agree i think 433 would in theory get control of the middle of the park and make it harder for the other side to get the ball out wide. my opinion is that in real life a side that plays with good width, gets the wide midfielders hugging the touchline, making the pitch bigger, which would in turn draw the middle 3 out from their central roles through the nessessity of having to protect their full backs against the winghalve, more so if theres a couple of attack minded full backs overlapping, cos ud be getting a 2 on 1 at every opportunity. but its all ifs and buts i suppose. all formations and tacics have their pros and cons - i think FLY is a dead one though, its way too attacking and leaves u very exposed. i love the idea of SLO but as u say it doesnt score enough goals. |

| And you've just described the reason why wingers appeal so much to me. Or even CAT where you sit in and hit fast on the break. With a quick enough LH and RH that should destroy teams playing FAS but I'm not brave enough to try it .... or am I. |

| Thanks for the continued interest in the international teams.
We'll be playing the World Cup again this year and any teams not in that will be in the usual International tourney.
Phil has France Rich has Brazil Ben has Argentina Tom has England Rob has Italy Iain has Spain Will has Holland Geoff has Serbia Matt/Bayern has Germany
all those teams will be in the World Cup, 4 groups of 4 as usual. 3 group matches, semis and final.
Rob also has Chile in the International league, thanks Rob

| Delighted to have gotten France again, always had a good record with them. So hopefully i can win the world cup this season! My formation will be a GK LB CB CB RB AM DL DR TM ST ST I feel the core of my team, Diarra, Essien and VDV is very balanced and going to be a key area for this season. Im excited about the new season just hope i can get 3 points under my belt 1st game and then its the debate of is aguero good enough to throw straight into TM or so i wait? The bid dilemma! The other option is play VDV TM and Aguero ST till his TU gets higher. |

| Happy with England, thanks Paul. Will do the usual thing of telling myself the players are good enough to win it, but then they will fall massively short!! |

| Paul is there an option with the international sides to review any of their players or does it have to be done at club level.?

sounds beutiful in theory doesnt it. ball won in midfield, spun out to the flank where either the wide man drops his shoulder and skins the full back or pauses waits for his overlapping full back to dart past him before slipping the ball inbetween the stranded full back and the centre half, The ball is then whipped in where the big centre forward chests the ball into the path of the onrushing striker who lashes a crisp hal volley in to the bottom corner of the net before jumping into the crowd amongst wild and jubilant celebrations ............... its like football porn |

Booked. Score more than one though and you'd be down to 10 men. |

| Barcelona are going mainly with WIN tactics and they tighten up against the stronger teams or away from home. Maybe the SEX tactic (still sounds wrong after all this time!) 'Problem' I have with WIN is my two fullbacks are hardly the most defensive ones around. My poor old CB's must be knackered at the end of 90 mins!!
Flamengo go with SAM. Simple.
I'll be here at 10 tomorrow, i'm not sure whats going be more stressful this week, todays interview panel for promotion at work or watching the livescores............

| Morning Rich, One of the joys of having a little girl!!!
Just as a side issue, has anyone else wondered what the hell a 'research centre' gives you?
At a cost to equip of 50m and a running cost of a cool 500,000 a week, it surely has to be something special!!
Am intrigued. Sadly it might be a while before I try one out!! |

| excellent, time to go to the Post office then. Oops, am out of Milk. Time to run an errand or two, apply for another Non-Exec Director Role and then back here to build content for a new website whilst watching nervously whilst Harry Kewell warms up on the touchline, praying he isnt needed! |
