| Welcome to the studio today, with me are Alan Shearer and Tony Parks, welcome gents. Now, Tony, you were at the game for us today, what happened to Charlton's title hopes ? Well, lets have a look at the video shall we...
video plays and shows...
From the kickoff the ball is passed to DEFOE who knocks it to LENNON who passes short to MODRIC who dribbles out of midfield into attack, then on the edge of the box, beats GERRARD to the ball, then dribbles into the box, then right up there with the attack, avoids a tackle by WILLIAN, then is clipped by WILLIAN but stays on his feet, then The crowd hold their breath ... the ref waves play on and MODRIC stays on his feet and from 18 yards buries his shot past the keeper into the top of the net for a GOAL.
video ends...
Firstly it was a close game, but as we saw in that clip, Stevie Gerrard was supposed to be playing at Anchorman, but was caught pushing forward when Modric broke out and Charlton were left with just Willian to defend in midfield and it cost them a goal. Had Stevie G been in position just in front of the defence then that goal may have been avoided. Sometimes this happens when you play a DY who likes to get forward at AM, you could try putting DEF on Stevie G to ensure he stays back or playing a more defensive anchorman. |

| Is that one of the reasons why Man City don't play Lampard at anchorman ? Yes playing him at dynamo gives him the freedom to choose whether to drop back or go forward as he pleases, its always more effective to play players in their first preferred position in games that are going to be tight. |

| I don't normally, just because Lucas was out, again.
Has Shearer any insight as to why I'm not troubling any teams at the other end of the pitch? |

| So what happened to Charlton going forward after that ?
Well, it seemed like Steven Caulker had Raheem Sterling pretty much in his pocket for the entire game although the ref could have been stricter and punished a few of the challenges, Caulker was just too strong for Sterling, and Sterling just never seem to turn on the magic. No signs of his dribbling or trickery, not sure why he didn't produce, that bears a deeper look later on.
( Hard to say exactly why because I reviewed Sterling this week and his previous stats were reset because of the review, but I'll look at him in more detail later )

| players who are under 22 dont produce in every game, and Sterling seems to be suffering with this rule, there is a chance they will not play to their potential, this supports the old adage "that you win nothing with kids". This seemed to affect him this week. |

| I think that rule needs amending to take into account a players international caps as well as their age. Using the TRY command will negate any handicap from a players age.
Playing a practice game with Gerrard at DY and with TRY on Sterling resulted in a 2-0 win for Charlton Coutinho and Henderson scoring.
Sometimes it's just little tweaks that are needed.

Neither have even shown up this season. |

| Coutinho's problem is his wages, way too low for a 9999, sort that and he may decide to give you hisbest similar thing with Sturridge really, once they go away on international duty and fine out what other players are earning they get unmotivated very quickly. Both are having poor seasons compared to last season, and improving their wages would certainly help. |

| One transfer I missed was Blackburn's purchase of Fernando Torres for £30millions, a late breaking deal confirmed after the deadline. |
